These and many other questions are answered at the Photo Museum in Osby. One of the few "pure" camera museums and the oldest one in Sweden. You donīt need to be a photography buff to find things of interest in the museum.
The owner of this museum, Sven-Olov Sundin, is one of the few daguerreotypists in northern Europe.Daguerreotypie the first photographic patent was granted in 1839 for the practice of making daguerreotypes. You will see how J.L.M. Daguerre and his colleague N.Niépce made the historic discovery.

What happened after this discovery ?

Follow the development of cameras. More than 1000 cameras of different ages and constructed of wood and metal, are on display. The cameras use film formats from 8 x 11 mm to 30 x 40 cm. Both professional and amateur cameras are displayed. Well known brands as well as unusal or one-of-a-type are shown. Auxiliary equipment such as exposure meters or old magnesium flash attachments, etc. Stereo cameras for 3-D, amatormovie cameras and projectors.

Collection of Mekanik Metal Building Pieces

In the Photo Museum there is also a collection of Mekanik metal construction pieces. These are manufactured in Osby. The exhibition has been shown in nearly a dozen different museums in southern Sweden.
